3.4.5 Connecting a USB device
You can connect the following industrial grade devices to the USB port:
• Mouse
• Keyboard
• Industrial USB Hub 4
• USB devices
The Industrial Thin Client supports USB storage devices that have been formatted with the
FAT16/32 or NTFS file system.
Additionally, exFAT formatted USB storage devices and, for connection type "RDP", the
following USB readers will be supported from firmware version V3.2.2.0 onwards:
– SIMATIC MV32x optical handheld readers
– SIMATIC RF10xxR readers, which can be used, for example, in conjunction with the PM-
LOGON or SIMATIC Logon software.

Malfunction of the USB port
If you wish to connect a USB device with its own power supply to the USB port, ensure
that the USB ground connection of the external device is connected to the ground.
