Preface
Purpose of the operating instructions
These operating instructions provide information based on the requirements defined by
mechanical engineering documentation for manuals. This information relates to the place of
use, transport, storage, mounting, use and maintenance.

General knowledge of automation technology and process communication is needed to
understand the operating instructions.
Specialist knowledge of SINUMERIK systems are required for the "SINUMERIK" operating
mode.
It is also assumed that those using the manual have experience in using personal computers
and knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.
