Description of function
You can de󹪝ne the following settings through the "Security settings" entry in the project tree.
Project protection
With the help of the user administration you can activate project protection for Startdrive
projects.
As soon as you specify a project administrator, your project will be protected. Users can then
only access the project in Startdrive by logging in. The drive itself is also protected. In this
case, you must always log in to access the drive online.
Activated project protection cannot be canceled. Activated drive protection (runtime) can
only be deactivated by completely restoring the factory settings (using an SD Card).
Users and roles
You can create local and global user accounts in the user administrationand specify the
general roles and rights for these users.
The following rules apply when you create user accounts:
Setting Number
Maximum number of roles In addition to the system-de󹪝ned r
oles,
you can create 20 user-de󹪝ned roles.
Maximum number of user accounts 25 (excluding "Anonymous" user)
Maximum assignable roles to a user account 10
Role names (maximum number of characters) 32
User account name (maximum number of characters) 100
Maximum password length (maximum number of charac‐
t
ers)
120
Each user requires function rights to access protected drive data. These function rights are
summarized in roles and de󹪝ne whic
h data and functions the respective user can access.
Each user can be assigned multiple system-de󹪝ned roles. In addition, user-speci󹪝c roles can
also be created and assigned. This is done by a user who has the function right "Manage users
and roles".
In regard to function rights, a distinction must be made between two groups:
Engineering rights
These always refer to a protected Startdrive project (UMAC for the project is enabled).
However, these rights are also checked when accessing a protected drive.
Runtime rights
These always refer to a protected device accessed in online mode (UMAC for the drive is
enabled).
SINAMICS Startdrive and web server use the same runtime rights.
