8.6.4 Application
Overvie
w
In quick startup step "Application" you de󹪝ne in detail in which application area the drive is to be
used. You de󹪝ne the following settings:
The control mode of the application
The motion type of the drive
The encoder (type) for the position control
The modulo correction
Requirements
The drive has been completely created and speci󹪝ed in the device con󹪝guration.
In quick startup step "Connection to the PLC", it is de󹪝ned that the ramp-function generator
in the drive should be used.
For activated user management (UMAC):
The function rights for con󹪝guring in the quick startup are activated for your user role.

Procedure
1
. Select how you wish to control your drive in your application. De󹪝ne the required control
mode. Click the appropriate button:
Speed control
The speed is controlled as precisely as possible to track a speci󹪝ed setpoint.
Positioning
A "Basic positioner (EPOS)" calculates the traversing pro󹪝le to traverse an axis as quickly
as possible to a target position.
It is impossible to select several control modes simultaneously. For control mode "Speed
control" no other settings are possible.
For control mode "Positioning", the following detailed settings are required:
2. Select the motion type that you wish to use for the drive when positioning.
For more information about the motion type, see Section "Axis type (Page369)".
3. Select the measurement units for position and velocity.
The units that can be set depend on the motion type. All values are reset to the default values
when changing the measurement unit and the axis type.
4. Use the settings for the motor encoder used for the position control:
Acquire the number of motor revolutions, load revolutions, and leadscrew pitch.
5. Optionally, activate option "Modulo correction activation" and de󹪝ne the modulo range.
6. Click "Next" to display the next quick startup step.
