13.2.2 Replacing the motor

The new motor has the same article number as the motor to be replaced. If you want to replace
the motor with another motor with a dierent article number, you must commission the
converter again after replacing the motor.
WARNING
Danger to life due to unintentional starting of the drive unit
Unintentional s
tarting of the drive unit can cause death or severe injury.
• Make sure that the drive unit cannot be started accidentally.
• Post a warning notice at the point where the switch is located.
CAUTION
Burns as a result of touching hot surfaces
In operation, the mo
tor enclosure can reach a high temperature, which can cause burns if
touched.
• Do not touch any hot surfaces.
• Allow the motor to cool down before starting any work.
• Use the appropriate personnel protection equipment, for example, gloves.
Procedure
Replacing the mo
tor with a motor with the same article number
1. Switch o the converter power supply.
2. Replace the motor.
– Disconnect the motor from the converter. You can nd detailed information in Section
"Connecting the motor (Page135)".
– Release the motor mounting screws.
– Remove the motor.
– Mount and install the new motor. You can nd detailed information in Section "Mounting
the motor (Page103)".
3. Switch the converter on.
