Use
You can use your AuroraPlus held in the hand, like a telephone
handset, or laid on its back. There is also a hook (two on the
'combi' model) on the back of
AuroraPlus so that you can hang
it up.
Your AuroraPlus is designed to test the ISDN Basic Rate
Interface (BRI) at the ‘S’, ‘T’ and ‘U’ reference points, by
emulating a Terminal Equipment (TE).
Making and clearing a Basic Rate connection between the
terminal and the network uses a D channel communication
protocol.
AuroraPlus tests the correct operation of this
protocol and reports the success or failure of the call on its
Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). Please note that detailed
explanations of application protocols are not included in this
guide.
When you have made or answered an ISDN call, (either voice
or data)
AuroraPlus lets you test the integrity of the
connection. For voice calls, this may be a speech test or Bit
Error Rate (BER) Test and, for data calls, a BER Test.
