10.2.1 Set up central Nagios server
TheNagiosserversoftwareisavailableformostmajordistributorsofLinuxusingthestandardpackagemanagementtools.
YourdistributorwillhavedocumentationavailableonhowtoinstallNagios.Thisisusuallythequickestandsimplestwaytoget
up and running.
NotethatyouwillneedthecoreNagiosserverpackage,andatleastoneoftheNRPEorNSCAadd-ons.NSCAisrequiredto
utilizethealertingfeaturesofthedistributedhosts;installingbothNRPEandNSCAisrecommended.
YouwillalsorequireawebserversuchasApachetodisplaytheNagioswebUI(andthismaybeinstalledautomaticallyasa
dependencyoftheNagiospackages).
Alternatively,youmaywishtodownloadtheNagiossourcecodedirectlyfromtheNagioswebsite,andbuildandinstallthe
softwarefromscratch.TheNagioswebsite(http://www.nagios.org)hasseveralQuickStartGuidesthatwalkthroughthis
process.

ready to continue.
