• ScrolldowntoNagios Settings and check Enable Nagios
• ClickNew Check and select Check Ping. Click check-host-alive
• ClickNew Check and select Check Permitted TCP. Select Port 3389
• ClickNew Check and select Check TCP. Select Port 80
• ClickNew Check and select Check TCP. Select Port 443
• ClickApply
Similarly,conguretheserialporttotheroutertobemonitoredbyNagios:
• SelectSerial Port from the Serial & Network menu
• LocatetheserialportthathastherouterconsoleportattachedandclickEdit
• EnsuretheserialportsettingsunderCommon Settingsarecorrectandmatchtheattachedrouter’sconsoleport
• ClickConsole Server Mode and select Logging Level 1
• CheckTelnet(SSHaccessisnotrequired,asSDTConnectorisusedtosecuretheotherwiseunsecuredTelnetconnection)
• ScrolldowntoNagios Settings and check Enable Nagios
• CheckPort Log and Serial Status
• ClickApply
NowsettheConsoleServertosendalertstotheNagiosserver
• SelectAlerts from the Alerts & Logging menu and click Add Alert
• InDescription enter: Administrator connection
• CheckNagios (NSCA)
• In Applicable Ports check the serial port that has the router console port attached. In Applicable Hosts check the IP
address/DNSnameoftheIISserver
• ClickConnection Alert
• ClickApply
Lastly,addaUserfortheclientrunningSDTConnector:
• SelectUsers & Groups from the Serial & Network menu
• ClickAdd User
• InUsername,enter:sdtnagiosuser,thenenterandconrmaPassword
• InAccessible HostsclicktheIPaddress/DNSnameoftheIISserver.In Accessible Ports click the serial port that has
the router console port attached
• ClickApply
