Instruction
Please adjust the sensitivity of the light barrier or rather the reflective light sensor as fol-
lows.
Step Procedure
1
Please place a product below tamp in the way that a label would be applied on the
desired position.
2
Now position the light barrier at the leading or trailing edge of the product according
to the chosen configuration and connect sensor with controller via sensor connect-
ing line.
3
Now adjust the light barrier to the reflector or rather the reflective light sensor to the
product. Rotate the adjusting screw carefully clockwise up to mechanical stop. If the
sensor detects the reflected (infrared) light, the switching status display LED (ON-
LED) will switch on.
4
Pay attention that the red LED (fouling message) does not switch on. The follow-
ing points could be the cause for the activation of the ERR-LED:
Incorrect distance to product/reflector
Fouling of sensor
Incorrect installation
Short circuit
Aging of sensor diode
Insecure area of operation
5
If the adjustment does not success, you will please repeat the steps up from
procedure 4.
6
Examine again the sensor fixing. It has to be absolutely tightened and vibra-
tions-resistant.
Only valid for the adjustment of a light barrier:
7
Now place a product between light barrier and reflector. The LED should now go
off. If the LED does not switch off, a light reflection will be produced by the product
surface.
8
When you place a product again in front of the light barrier, the LED has to switch
off.
If you have problems with false pulses because of reflections, you will have to ad-
just an adequate trigger blank. Or you should not adjust the light barrier and the re-
flector right-angled to the conveying system, but position them diagonal approx.
10-15°. Because of the diagonal positioning you avoid that light reflections from the
product surface can reach the light barrier. In case of large distances between light
barrier and reflector additional or bigger reflectors will enhance the switching relia-
bility.
