(X5) Encoder (Option)
The connection of an encoder is arranged by a M12, 5 pin plug and enables an automatic
adaption of the label applying speed at different or variable product transportation speeds.
For the initial operation of the encoders a HMI Display or an *“USB-connection is
required. When using the encoder, you have to consider that no entries at HMI pan-
el or HMI display are possible during a label applying procedure. This is also valid if
the label application was interrupted by a stop of the conveying system. Further-
more, a new application cycle is only started if the start trigger signal was reset be-
fore the new applying cycle. Thus the products have to be fed separately.

For an optimum labeling result the label applying speed has to coincide with the product
transportation speed.
If the products are always fed with the same speed to the labeler Alpha Compact, a fixed
adjustment of the applying speed is sufficient. If the product transportation speed varies,
the label applying speed has to be synchronized by means of an optional encoder. Gen-
erally the Alpha Compact can be used with most encoders. For the initial operation of the
encoder, a HMI display or an *“USB-connection is required.
