Operation of the HMI Panel

The HMI Panel consists of 4 buttons, 2 control dials and 2 control-LEDs. It comprises a
connection cable with a 5-pin M12 industry plug and it is connected at the labeler’s side.
The installation position can be freely selected and should be close to the labeler at a well
accessible position. The HMI Panel is mostly used for the operation of standard labelers.
Labelers with optional accessories (e.g. encoder and applicators) require for the initial op-
eration and troubleshooting the HMI Display or the *“USB connection. A limited operation
of the labelers with optional accessories is possible with the HMI Panel.

1 Potentiometer

The label applying speed is adjusted with the potentiome-
ter. In basic setting of 0-50m/min. The minimum and maxi-
mum label applying speed can be limited by means of the
Display Controller by parameter (167 and 168).
2 Potentiometer Ad-
just
5 functions can be adjusted by means of the HMI Panel by
parameter (021) in programming mode.
0= off / no function
1=Offset / the label position is adjusted by the poti.
2=Trigger delay / the start signal is delayed with the poti.
3=Sync pulse duration / during application cycle a synchro-
nization signal is issued for the duration that was adjusted
at the poti.
4=Sync pulse delay / the synchronization signal is issued
with the delay time that was adjusted at the poti at the ap-
plication cycle.
3 LED Run
If the green LED over the [Start]-button illuminates, "ready
for labeling" is signalized.
4 LED Status
If the LED lights orange, the key lock for both potentiometer
m/min and Adjust is turned on.
