CHAPTER 6
ACCEPTANCE & QUALITY
ASSURANCE TESTS
To insure proper operation of the CAPTUS
®
600, the following tests should be performed at
the indicated intervals.
ACCEPTANCE TESTS
The following tests must be performed in the following order before the initial use of the
CAPTUS
®
600:
Diagnostics
Calibration Test
Chi-Square Test
Minimum Detectable Activity
QUALITY ASSURANCE TESTS
Daily Tests
The CAPTUS
®
600 does not need to be calibrated every day, but its calibration needs to be
checked daily with the Calibration Test Procedure as described in the
CALIBRATION TEST
section on page 6-
2. When the Calibration Test function is performed daily, two things are
accomplished:
1. The fine gain of the multichannel analyzer is adjusted, eliminating the need to adjust
the High Voltage. This assures the unit is calibrated.
2. The Full Width-Half Maximum (FWHM) of the Cs137 peak is measured and recorded.
Automatic Regions of Interest (ROI) are calculated from the FWHM of the cesium
photopeak measured in test.
Monthly Tests
Perform an Auto Calibration Function as described in the
AUTO CALIBRATION TEST
section on page 6-
5. Perform a check on the system firmware functions by accessing the
Diagnostics module as described in the
DIAGNOSTICS section on page 6-12. The
Diagnostics Module checks the RAM, PROM and EEPROM memory, and prints out stored
nuclide and standard source data for verification, and high voltage reference number and
gain adjustments.
