BLOOD VOLUME (I125)
The Blood Volume (I125) protocol is designed to be used in determining plasma volume.
From the Main Blood Tests Screen (
Figure 16-1), press 2 to select BLOOD VOLUME (I125).
If patient demographics have not yet been input, do so according to the directions in
CHAPTER 14: LAB TESTS: SETUP.
Press the F4 [MEAS] key after the patient demographics are entered. The first Plasma
Volume Data Screen (
Figure 16-6) will appear.

Input the hematocrit determined from a whole blood sample drawn from the patient five to ten
minutes post injection and enter the patient weight. When data on the screen are correct,
press the F4 [OK] key.
After pressing the F4 [OK] key, the second Plasma Volume Data Screen (
Figure 16-7) will
appear.
