If it is desired to use a setup that has been entered through Utilities, press
3 to select
CHOOSE SETUP. A list of the setups will be displayed. Use the
ARROW keys to move the
prompt to the desired setup and press
ENTER.
Calibration
It is not necessary to perform the Calibration Test every day in order to use the MCA.
If calibration has not been performed, Gain will be displayed instead of keV for the spectra.
The relationship between Gain and keV scales is:
200 keV .......... Gain 8
400 keV .......... Gain 4
800 keV .......... Gain 2
1600 keV .......... Gain 1
In addition, not all of the features will be active.
MEASURING BACKGROUND
Measuring background is optional.
Background for one or all of the energy ranges can be measured at once.
When MEASURE BACKGROUND is chosen, a background instruction message appears.
When any key is pressed, the Background Range Selection Screen (
Figure 19-4) will appear.
