DISABLE AUTHENTICATION OR USE RANDOM PIN
I n the configurat ion m ode, read the barcode below to disable aut hent icat ion (= No PI N)
or use a random PI N for aut henticat ion.

HI D, some device drivers m ay not support pre- defined PI N
code for authent icat ion. I n this case, m ake sure you have t he scanner set t o No
PI N or use random PI N before pairing. While pairing, the host PI N code will be
displayed on t he com puter screen.
Use Random PIN
When t he target device is set to use a random PI N for aut hentication, wait unt il t he random PI N is
displayed on t he target device while pairing, and t hen input t he m at ching PI N code on the scanner.
Not e: Follow the st eps below to ent er the m at ching PI N on the scanner. There is no need
to ent er the configuration m ode!
1) Read one of the barcodes t o specify t he PI N code, in decim al or hexadecim al.

2) Read t he Decimal Value barcode on page 219 or the Hexadecim al Value barcode on page
220 for the desired digits or character string.
Read the Clear PI N Code barcode first if you need to re- input the PI N.

3) Read t he Validat e barcode to com plet e this setting.
Reject Random PIN Request
When t he random PI N is displayed on t he target device while pairing, you can reject the PI N
request by having t he scanner read t he Validate barcode.
