6.4.4 FIELD SETTINGS
Data eligible for editing form ats is divided int o fields by user-specified rules – eit her
using the field term inat ing string or specified field length.
By Terminating String
Specify t he field term inat ing string. Up to two charact ers are allowed. The scanner will search for
the occurrence of t his particular string in t he dat a.
 By default, t his string will be included in the field. You m ay discard it .
By Length
Alternat ively, you may sim ply specify the field lengt h. The scanner will assign t he next specified
num ber of characters into t he field.
Field 1 Setting
1) Read t he bar code below to divide field 1 by a specified term inat ing string.

2) Read t he “Hexadecim al Value” barcode on page 220 for the desired character string.
3) Read t he “Validat e” barcode to com plet e this setting.
4) Read t he “Discard Separat or” barcode if the field separat or is not desired in the field.

I f not dividing t he field by a specific separat or, you m ay divide it by a specified lengt h.
