1.14 USE DIRECT USB CABLE
1663 supports Direct USB int erface for charging t he bat t ery and/ or sending data to the
host in m em ory m ode. Refer to
1.2.2 Mem ory Mode.
Not e: The scanner will not function when it is solely on USB power and without a bat t ery
loaded.
1.14.1 DIRECT USB INTERFACE
When it is set t o Mem ory Mode and connected t o computer via t he Direct USB cable, the
default output interface becom es “ Direct USB Virtual COM” , change it to “ Direct USB
HI D” if required.

1.14.2 DISABLE DIRECT USB INTERFACE
When connect ing the USB cable t o t he scanner for charging t he bat t ery, ensure the
“ Disable Direct USB” barcode has been scanned t o avoid sending dat a to the host in
m em ory m ode. I n t his m ode t he USB cable funct ion will be charging the bat t ery only.
