1.11 ADDON SECURITY FOR UPC/EAN BARCODES
The scanner is capable of decoding a m ix of UPC/ EAN barcodes wit h and wit hout addons.
The read redundancy ( 0~ 30 tim es) allows changing t he num ber of t imes to decode a
UPC/ EAN barcode before t ransm ission. The m ore redundancy selected, the higher the
reading securit y is, and thus, the slower t he reading speed becom es.
Not e: UPC/ EAN Addon 2 and Addon 5 m ust be enabled individually for this set t ing to
take effect.
Addon Security Level
(*0~30)
1) Read t he barcode above to specify the read redundancy for UPC/ EAN barcodes. ( I t is
set t o 0 by default.)
2) Read t he “
Decimal Value” barcode on page 219. For exam ple, read “1” and “2” for t he
scanner to re-read t he barcode for 12 t im es.
3) Read t he “ Validat e” barcode on t he sam e page t o com plet e t his set t ing.
1.12 NEGATIVE BARCODES
Norm ally, barcodes are print ed with the color of the bars darker than that of t he spaces.
But for negat ive barcodes, they are print ed in the opposite sense just like negative films.
The spaces of negat ive barcodes are print ed with a color darker than that of the bars.
Configure the scanner to be able t o read negat ive barcodes if required.
