1663 can send dat a via Direct USB int erface once the com put er has found the USB connect ion.

1.14 Use Direct USB Cable. Because the tim e- out value is set to 0 by default , connect the
cable before having the scanner read the Send Dat a barcode. Otherwise, t he scanner will t ry to
tem porarily resum e the previous WPAN connect ion with the host, if t here is any.
During t ransm ission of dat a collect ed in m em ory m ode, if t he transm ission fails, the scanner will
flash red (On/ Off rat io 0.2 s: 0.2 s) after responding with two short beeps ( high- low tone) and go
back to previous working m ode. Press trigger or power key to st op flashing.
Send Data
Send Data Time-out
I f a t im e- out value other than zero is given, it will first try to send data via Direct USB” int erface
wit hin the specified period of tim e. Connect the cable before it times out. When t he att em pt fails, it
will try to tem porarily resum e the prev ious WPAN connect ion with the host, if there is any.
I f 1663 has never been connect ed t o t he host cordless, it will not be able to send data until it is
connected using the Direct USB cable!

Clear Data & Confirm
Even though data has been sent to the host, t he flash memory is st ill occupied unless you erase
the m em ory by reading two barcodes Clear Dat a and Confirm .
1) Read t he Clear Data barcode to clear the flash m em ory.
2) Read t he Confirm barcode to confirm the act ion.
