If an error occurs in the imprinter, the following is displayed on the operator panel.
● For the LCD
An error code, error details, and a solution for the problem are displayed on the LCD.
Error Code Error Details and the Solution
A1:B3 A1:B3 Error
Imprinter error (communication timeout)
Turn the power back on. If the problem persists, refer to the Operator's
Guide and take measures accordingly.
A2:B5 A2:B5 Error
Imprinter error (print head)
Turn the power back on. If the problem persists, refer to the Operator's
Guide and take measures accordingly.
A3:B6 A3:B6 Error
Imprinter error (EEPROM)
Turn the power back on. If the problem persists, refer to the Operator's
Guide and take measures accordingly.
A4:B8 A4:B8 Error
Imprinter error (ROM)
Turn the power back on. If the problem persists, refer to the Operator's
Guide and take measures accordingly.
● For the Function Number Display
An alphabetical character and a number for the error code are displayed alternately on the Function Number
Display.

A4 Imprinter error (ROM)
Take the following measures.
● Refer to the fi-819PRB Imprinter Operator Guide to check if the print cartridge is installed correctly.
● Refer to the fi-819PRB Imprinter Operator's Guide to reconnect the EXT cable.
● Turn the scanner off then back on.
If the problem still persists, write down the error code, check each item in Before You Contact the Scanner
Service Provider (page 330) and then contact the distributor/dealer where you purchased this product. Refer to
the contact information in the Contact List if supplied with this product, or refer to the contact information in
Troubleshooting
