Settings to Use the Scanner Only via the USB Connection [Network Function]
[fi-8190/fi-8290/fi-8170/fi-8270/fi-8150/fi-8250]
Specify whether or not to use the scanner only via the USB connection.
Disable the wired LAN connection if you want to use the scanner only via a USB connection for the following
reasons.
● Reducing power consumption
● Enhancing the security
If this setting is changed, the scanner is restarted.
1 Start up the Software Operation Panel.
Refer to Starting Up the Software Operation Panel (page 333).
2 From the list on the left, select [Device Setting 2] → [Network Function].
3 Select [Disable] to use the scanner only via a USB connection.
The factory default setting is [Enable].
HINT
● If [Enable] is selected for [Network Function], you can use the scanner either via a USB connection or a
wired LAN connection.
● [Network Function] appears when the Software Operation Panel is started up via a USB connection.
