Preparingthepatient’selectrodesites
Excessivebodyhairorskinoilreduceselectrodecontactwiththeskinanddecreases
thequalityofelectrodesignal.Whenpreparingtheelectrodesites,avoidbonesclose
toskin,obviouslayersoffatandmajormuscles.
1.Shaveanyhairfromtheelectrodesite.
2.Gentlyrubthesurfaceoftheskintoincreasecapillarybloodow.
3.Cleantheskinwithalcoholoramildsoapandwatersolutiontoremoveskinoil
anddeadorabradedskincells.
4.Drytheskincompletelybeforeapplyingtheelectrodes.
Applyingtheelectrodestothepatient
1.Placetheelectrodesonthepreparedsites.
2.Stabilizetheelectrodeandleadwirewithaleadwirestressloopneartheelectrode.
3.Tapethestresslooptothepatient(excludingneonates).
