YoucanchoosewhetherthemonitorperformsanECGanalysisusingsingleleadECG
dataordatafrommultipleECGleads.MultipleECGleadswilltypicallyreducefalse
alarmsandimprovethedetectionsensitivity.However,ifmostleadsarenoisyorlow
amplitude,theSingleleadmodeusingthebestavailableECGleadwillhelp.
Witha3-leadwirecablethesettingisSingleleadandcannotbechanged.Ifthe
measurementmodeischangedfromthe3-leadwiremodeto5-,6-,or10-leadmode,
thesettingchangestoMultilead.

3.SelectanoptionfromtheLeadAnalysislist.Thechoicesare:
●Singlelead:TheEkProalgorithmusesoneoftheleadsI,II,III,orV1forthe
analysis.Forsingle-leadanalysiswhenaVR,aVL,oraVFissetastheECG1
Lead,thefollowingmappingisused:aVR=II,aVL=I,aVF=III.Alsonotethat
theSTvaluesareonlycalculatedforthesinglelead.
●Multilead:TheEkProalgorithmusesthefollowingleads:
￭5-leadand6-leadmode:I,II,III,andanyleadassignedtoVa.
￭10-leadmode:I,II,III,andV1.
Relearningthepatient’sQRSpattern
DuringECGmonitoring,youmayneedtousetheRelearnQRSfeaturewhena
dramaticchangeinthepatient’sECGpatternhasoccurred.Allowingthemonitorto
learnthenewECGpatterncorrectsfalsearrhythmiaalarmsandheartratevalues,
andrestorestheSTmeasurements.Relearningtakestypically30secondsorless.The
messageRelearning...displaysintheECG1waveformareawhilethemonitorrelearns
theQRSpattern.Duringthistime,arrhythmiadetectionisnotavailable.Ifthemonitor
isnotabletorelearnduetoalowamplitudeQRS,forexample,theArrhythmiapaused
alarmistriggered.Beawarethatifarrhythmiaisturnedoff,theNoisyECGalarmis
triggeredinstead.
