Makesurethattheleadwiresetclipsorsnapsdonottouch
anyelectricallyconductivematerialincludingearth.

Theimpedancerespirationmeasurementisinherently
verysensitiveasitmeasuresverysmallphysiological
signals(changesofimpedanceofthepatient’schest
area).Electromagneticinterferencemaycauseerroneous
measurementsatvariousfrequencies,forexample
interferencewiththesignal/waveform,leadingtorespiration
ratereadingsinconsistentwiththepatient'struerespiration
rate.Ifyounoticethis,useanotherformofrespiration
monitoring,forinstanceend-tidalCO

Whenusinganelectrosurgeryunit,notethatthe
measurementcablesdonotincorporatemeanstoprotect
againstburnsincaseofadefectiveESUreturnelectrode.To
avoidburnsatthemonitormeasurementsites,ensurethe
following:
●PropercontactoftheESUreturnelectrodetothepatient.
●ESUreturnelectrodeneartheoperatingarea.
●Measurementelectrodes,leadwiresandprobesfarfrom
thesurgicalsiteandtheESUreturnelectrode.

APNEAEVENTS.Thedevicemaynotdetectallepisodesof
inadequatebreathing,nordoesitdistinguishbetweencentral,
obstructive,andmixedapneaevents.
WARNING
DEFIBRILLATORPRECAUTIONS.Patientsignalinputslabeled
withtheCFandBFsymbolswithpaddlesareprotectedagainst
damageresultingfromdebrillationvoltages.Toensure
properdebrillatorprotection,useonlytherecommended
cablesandleadwires.
