Thealternatepulseratesourceallowsclinicianstoacquireapulseratefromasource

).Thefollowingcircumstancesmaywarrant
theuseofanalternatepulseratesource:
●Excessiveartifactduetoanelectricalinterferencefromequipment(e.g.,
electrosurgicaldevice).
●Excessivepatientmovementcausingsignicantartifact(e.g.,seizureactivity).
●Inabilitytousestandardleadplacement(e.g.,burns).
IntelliRatealgorithm
TheIntelliRatealgorithmextractsinformationfrommultiplephysiologicalsignals
(ECG,SpO
2
,andArt,FemorUACwhenselectedastheprimaryarterialchannel)
andappliesrule-basedlogictodeterminewhichheartratesourcehasthehighest
likelihoodofbeingaccurate.TheIntelliRatealgorithmcanalsosuppressalarmsfor
Asystole,VFib/VTach,andVTachifthealgorithmdeterminesthatthereisahigh
likelihoodofafalsearrhythmiacall.Byreportingthemostaccuraterate,thetrended
pulserateismoreaccurate,andoccurrencesoffalsepulseratelimitviolationalarms
