Thelithium-ion(Li-Ion)batteryisarechargeablebatterycontaininglithium-ioncells.
Eachbatterycontainsanintegratedelectronicfuelgaugeandasafetyprotection
circuit.
●Thebatterydischargesonitsown,evenwhenitisnotinstalledintheequipment.
Thisdischargeistheresultofthelithium-ioncellsandthebiascurrentrequired
fortheintegratedelectronics.
●Theself-dischargerateoflithium-ioncellsdoubleforevery10°C(18°F)risein
temperature.
●Thecapacitylossofthebatterydegradessignicantlyathighertemperatures.
●Asthebatteryages,thefull-chargecapacityofthebatterydegradesandis
permanentlylost.Asaresult,theamountofchargethatisstoredandavailable
foruseisreduced.

Improvingbatteryperformance
Followtheseguidelinestoimprovethebatteryperformance:
1.Positiontheequipmentinalocationthatdoesnotarticiallyincreasethe
operatingtemperatureofthebattery.
2.GErecommendsusinganapprovedGEexternalbatterychargertochargethe
batterywheneverpossible.Theexternalbatterychargermaintainsalower
batterycelltemperatureduringthechargecycle.
Thisreductionintemperaturecanextendthelifeofthebattery.
3.ConditionthebatterywhentheBatteryqualitystatusindicatesConditioning
required(MonitorSetup>BatteryStatus>Advanced>Page1).
Batteryconditioningre-calibratestheelectronicfuelgauge.GErecommends
usinganapprovedGEexternalbatterychargertoconditionthebattery.

Batterystoragerecommendations
GErecommendsstoringthebatteryoutsideofthedeviceatatemperaturebetween
20°Cto25°C(68°Fto77°F)ifthedevicewillnotbeusedforalongperiodoftime.
