RADIAL
CLEARANCE
Set
the
crankshaft
on
V-blocks
and
measure the
connecting rod big end radial clearance.
SERVICE LIMIT: 0.05
mm (0.002 in)
CRANKSHAFT
Check the liming sprocket

for wear or damage.
Place
the
crankshaft on a stand or V-blocks and

measure
the
runout using a
dia
l gauge.
The
measuring locations are shown
in
the illustration.
SERVICE LIMIT: 0.10 mm (0.004 in)

Tum the outer race
of
the left crankshaft bearing with

your finger.
The bearing should tum smoothly and quietly,
Also check that the bearing inner race fils tighlly on the
crankshaft.
Replace the crankshaft if the outer race does nol turn
smoothly, quielly, or jf inner race
fi
ts loosely
on
the
crankshaft.
