IGNITION SYSTEM INSPECTION
NOTE:
If there is
no
spark al
the
plug,
check
all connections
for loose or poor contact before measuring the peak
voltage.
Use a commercially available digital mutlimeter with
an impedance
of
10 MOJDCV minimum.
The display value differs depending upon
the
intemal impedance
of
the multimeler.
If
using the peak voltage
lester
(U.S.A. only), follow
Ihe manufacturer's instructions.

connected connectors can
cause
incorrect
readings.
Check the cylinder compression and check t

spark plug is installed correctly in the cylinder head.
Remove the fuel
lank
(page 6-5).
Disconnect the spark plug cap from
the
spark
plug.
Connect a known good spark plug [1] to
the
spark plug
cap and ground
it
to the cylinder head
as
done
in a
spark test.
