“Online Replacement (OLR)”
Describes the replacement of a PCI/PCI-X/PCIe card without powering down the server. This
action requires suspending the associated driver. The existing driver for the old card must be
compatible with the new card.
CAUTION: If you are performing OLR on HP-UX 11i version 1 (and later), the card you install
must be exactly the same as the card you replace. This is also known as like-for-like
replacement.

Describes the removal of a PCI/PCI-X/PCIe card after powering down the server.
“Installing a PCI/PCI-X/PCIe Card Offline
Describes the installation of a PCI/PCI-X/PCIe card after powering down the server.
