Figure 83 Display Board Removal and Replacement
Replacing the Display Board
To replace the display board, follow these steps:
NOTE: Use the guide pins on the chassis and the L-shaped keyways on the display board to help
you with the display board replacement procedures.
1. Remove the diagnostic panel light guide protective cover from the replacement display board.
CAUTION: Do not use the USB connector as a handle to replace the display board. Failure
to observe this warning can result in damage to server components.
2. Place the display board onto the guide pins.
3. Use the diagnostic panel light guide as a handle to push the board toward the front of the
chassis until it fully seats against the front of the chassis.
4. Remove the top two screws from the right side of the bezel. Pull the bezel out from the chassis
approximately one half inch so that the display board can clear the locator and Power buttons.
CAUTION: Do not pull the bezel out from the chassis more than one half inch. Failure to
observe this warning can result in damage to server components.
5. Hold the bezel out from the chassis, and simultaneously push the board to the right to plug it
into the socket on the interconnect board.
6. Locate the knurled thumbscrew behind the DVD drive that holds the display board in place.
Turn the screw clockwise until the board is secured into place.
7. Install the diagnostic panel light guide.
a. Align the diagnostic panel light guide tabs with the slots on the display board.
b. Push down firmly on the light guide until it seats onto the board.
