The final factor that can cause a “Gross Leak” error message to appear is an unstable
environmental temperature while a test is being conducted. If the gas in the housing is cooled
during an integrity test, the volume occupied by the gas will decrease also. This will lead to a
pressure drop in the housing unrelated to gas diffusing through the filter membrane. Check to
insure that the cartridge, housing and upstream hardware is not in-line with any vents or
doorways that may cool-off the system during an integrity test.
