ADDING A NEW FILTER SPECIFICATION
To test a filter, its specifications must be recorded in the Filter Database.
1. Official Millipore filter specifications are preloaded.
2. Non-Millipore specifications must be entered into the Filter Database (e.g. Product
Bubble Point for a Millipore Filter).
3. Specifications for filters made by other manufacturers must be entered into the Filter
Database.
General Procedure
1. Go to the Main Menu and click
to go to the Filter Editor Screen (Figure 41).
2. Choose Tab F2: General (Figure 41).
3. Click
to clear all fields, and then enter a new filter.
4. Enter the Filter Catalogue Number.
5. Enter the appropriate Wetting Fluid for this specification.
Note: Each filter/wetting fluid combination requires a unique entry. For example, an
Aervent™ 10-inch gas filter (Catalogue number CTGR 71 TP1) can be HydroCorr tested with
water and bubble point and diffusion tested with IPA. This filter requires two entries in the filter
database, one for each fluid.
6. Enter a description of this filter type (optional).
7. Select whether the filter is Hydrophobic.
8. Select the tests that are available for this filter/wetting fluid combination.
9. If you are entering an official Millipore specification check the box labeled “Millipore
Filter” and input a valid checksum value. This will result in a revision number of the
format Mxxx. If you do not check the “Millipore Filter” box or do not have a valid
checksum the revision number will indicate that it is a “User” filter specification with a
format of Uxxx.
10. Click Tab F3 to open the Filter Size Screen (Figure 42).
