8.1 Labels, certificates and approvals

• The front side of SIMATIC ITC V3 series provides a degree of protection of at least IP65.
The rear side of the device shall be installed in a tool accessible enclosure that provides a
minimum ingress protection of IP 54 for Zone 2 in accordance with IEC/EN 60079-7, at
least IP54 for Zone 22 with Group IIIA and IIIB and at least IP64 for Zone 22 with group IIIC
in accordance with IEC/EN 60079-31. User must follow details of installation method to
complete the Ex tc end-equipment enclosure, see section 3.1.3 of Operating Instructions
for Built-in units installation instructions, taking into account the applicable environmental
conditions under which the equipment is used, see details in Operating Instructions.
• SIMATIC ITC V3 series are acceptable for use in different external ambient temperature
ranges (Ta: 0˚C to 35˚C/40˚C/45˚C/50˚C) depending on mounting positions, internal
ambient temperature for reference is 56.9 ˚C. Users shall access Operating Instructions
Ambient Conditions section for details.
• The fastener shall only be replaced by article number 6AV6881-6AD10-0AA0, which is
specified by the manufacturer.
• USB interfaces are not permitted to connect with USB devices except for equipment with
USB cable connection.
CCCEx approval
The following approvals according to the following standards are valid for a device with the
"CCC" marking.
• Standards:
– GB/T 3836.1 (Explosive atmospheres - Part 1: Equipment - General requirements)
– GB/T 3836.3 (Explosive atmospheres - Part 3: Device protection through type of
protection "e")
– GB/T 3836.31 (Explosive atmospheres - Part 31: Equipment dust explosion protection
by enclosure "t")
• Approvals:
– Ex ec IIC T4 Gc
– Ex tc IIIC T70°C Dc
Special conditions of use
• The front of the HMI devices and the SIMATIC PRO device including the top of the adapter
provide a degree of protection of at least IP65.
The front of the HMI device and the underside of the adapter must be installed with a
certified enclosure that ensures a degree of protection of at least IP54 in accordance with
GB/T 3836.1 for Group II, IP54 according to GB/T 3836.1 for Group IIIA and IIIB and IP6X
according to GB/T 3836.1 for Group IIIC.
During use, make allowances for the ambient conditions.
• The equipment shall be installed in such a way that the risk of mechanical danger is low.
• To avoid an electrostatic charge, wipe the enclosure surface with a damp cloth only.
