Description of function
You can dene the following settings in the function view with the same name:
• Limitation
– Position limits
You can activate and congure the software and hardware limit switches to limit the
traversing range.
– Dynamic response limits
You can dene the limitations of the traversing prole by specifying the maximum
velocity, acceleration, deceleration, and jerk.
• Homing
Homing establishes the reference of the position measurement in the converter to the
machine. You can select between two homing types:
– Active homing
You can select from three active homing modes to traverse the axis to a home position.
The drive itself then controls and monitors the homing cycle. You can also decide whether
absolute encoder adjustment should be automatically performed after home position
approach.
– Passive homing
You select the input terminal for direct measuring probe 1 in the function view. When the
measuring probe is detected, the dierence between the home position and the
determined measured value is corrected on-the-y.
– Absolute encoder adjustment
Absolute encoders must be adjusted during commissioning. When the machine is
switched o, the position information of the encoder is retained. The absolute encoder is
therefore rst adjusted to the home position, e.g. by jogging.
• Position monitoring functions
– Position/standstill monitoring
You specify the positioning window, positioning monitoring time, standstill window, and
standstill monitoring time. The drive sets the "Setpoint stationary" signal to 1 as soon as
the setpoint for the position within a positioning operation no longer changes. With this
signal, the drive starts to monitor the actual position value.
– Following error monitoring
You specify the maximum following error for the actual position value. If this following
error is violated, the position control cancels the current positioning operation and
generates a fault message.
• Direct setpoint specication (MDI)
The setpoints listed in the function view are entered via PLC communications. You check
these setpoints in the function view for diagnostic purposes.
• Traversing blocks
You can dene a maximum of 32 traversing blocks in a conguration table in the function
view. For each traversing block, you dene the required settings (Page383)and make xed
stop conguration. An external control can subsequently select a traversing block that has
been selected.
