Appendix III: Connect the R2 PLUS series with PDA
1. Connect the R2 PLUS series and PDA with RS-232C cable
2. Refer to the chapter 3.8.3 Communication Port Setting to set the parameters on
R2 PLUS series. And then set the instrument at basic measurement mode, as followings
shown:
3. Run the survey program on the PDA, for example, SurvCE.exe of Carlson, then
select the instrument mode in the SurvCE Stonex Total Station Menu.
4. Set the communication parameters on the PDA, they must be same with R2 PLUS
series’s. And select the “2-Way” in communication setting.
5. And then the PDA will sending data to R2 PLUS series to test the communication,
if they can not communication, check the cable connection and parameters to try again.
Now you are ready to start Survey (Survey menu of SurvCE ) .
