Glossary and Acronyms
Called party The subaddress of the called party. This is
subaddress included in the outgoing setup message when en
(CPN-SUB) bloc dialling is used.
Calling party The subaddress, if any, of the calling party.

(CLI-SUB)
CCITT The former name of the ITU-T (from French
acronym).
Central Office (CO) A US term for a telephone exchange.
Channel A path (either physical or logical) for transmission of
information.
Clear Cause A code indicating the reason why a call has cleared.
CLI Calling Line Identity. The number belonging to the
caller.
Closed User In an X.25 network, a group of subscribers that are
Group (CUG) configured such that calls to and from the group
are restricted.
CPN Called Party Number. The number dialled by the
calling party.
D
D Channel An ISDN channel that supports signalling or packet
data at speeds of 16 kbps (BRI) or 64 kbps (PRI).
Data Digital information, which may be text, voice or
video.
Decode This is ISDN signalling information from the D
Channel. Decode can be captured in
AuroraPlus’s
memory using the Tracer feature.
Digital An exchange that switches digital signals by
