PP Point-to-Point.
PRI Primary Rate ISDN.
Primary Rate An ISDN configuration that provides

Protocol A set of procedures or conventions used to standardise
data transmissions.
PSPDN Packet Switched Public Data Network.
PSTN Public Switched Telephone Network.
PTO Public Telecommunications Operator.
Pulse A method of sending dialled digits to the exchange
using brief loop current interruptions.
Pulse Code A method of converting analogue signals into
Modulation digital signals.

R interface In an ISDN, the interface between TE2 and TE1.

Recommendation The ITU publication that defines the interface
X.25 between user equipment and a packet switched
network.
Redial A dialling method in which the device automatically
redials the last dialled number.
Redirection The sending of a call to an alternative destination
when the intended destination is busy.
Reverse charging The placing of a data or voice call such that the
destination is charged for the cost of the call.
Ringback The signal fed back to a caller to indicate that the
called telephone is ringing.
