S interface The Point-to-Multipoint interface between the NT1
and the TA or between the NT2 and the TE1. Allows
bus operation.
SAPI Service Access Point Identifier. Identifies the service
for which the frame is intended.
S/T interface When the NT1 and the NT2 are physically combined,
the S and T interfaces are referred to jointly as the S/T
interface.
Service Profile A number, based on your equipment’s directory
Identifier (SPID) number, that is used to identify the equipment on
the bus.
Speed dial The use of a one-digit code to replace a standard
destination address.
Subaddress A two, three, or four-digit field appended to the
address and used to identify a particular device
attached to the S-bus in an ISDN BRI configuration.

T interface The Point-to-Point interface between the NT1 and the
NT2.
Terminal adapter A type of TE1 device that provides the interface
between the
(TA) NT1 and the TE2.
