7 - 4 Self-diagnostic function
(1) Self-diagnostic function
This machine is equipped with self-diagnostic function. When a problem is detected, the machine stops printing and dis-
play an error message on the operation panel. An error message consists of a message prompting a contact to service
personnel and a four-digit error code indicating the type of the error.
(2) Self diagnostic codes
If the part causing the problem was not supplied, use the unit including the part for replacement.
Before attempting to check the power supply and the fuser unit and PWB, be sure to turn the power switch off and
unplug the machine from power.
After disconnect the power cord, press the power switch one second or more to discharge the electric charge inside the
main unit.

0150 Backup memory read/write error
(engine PWB)
Detecting engine PWB EEPROM
communication error.
Improper installation

Check the installation of the EEPROM and remedy if
necessary.
Defective engine PWB. Replace the engine PWB and check for correct
operation.
Device damage of
EEPROM.

0160 Backup memory data error (engine

Defective EEPROM. Replace the engine PWB and check for correct
operation.

0170 Billing counting error
A checksum error is detected in the
main and engine backup memories
for the billing counters.
