Disassemble and Assemble
1. General
You must do a function check of the waste
gate each six months. To do a function
check of the waste gate, refer to the
Operation Manual, 6735−1.
If a malfunction of the waste gate occurs, do
the procedure below as soon as possible:
2. Disassemble
Note: The screw (4,Fig. 1) adjusts the
piston stroke setting. Make sure
that during Step 1, you do not
move the screw.
1) Remove the lockwire (1).
2) Remove the four screws (2).
3) Carefully remove the cover (3). The
cover has pressure from the spring (6).
4) Remove the piston (9).
5) Clean the piston (9) and the
housing (8).
6) Do a check of the piston seal ring (10)
and the two guide rings (11). Replace
these items if necessary.
3. Assemble
1) Apply a small quantity of clean oil to the
piston (9), piston seal ring (10) and the
two guide rings (11).
2) Put the piston (9) into the housing (8).
3) Make sure that the piston (9) can move
freely in the housing (8).
Note: If it is necessary to replace the
seal (7) during Step 4, make sure
that a seal of the same dimensions
is installed.
4) Do a check of the seal (7). If necessary
replace the seal.
Note: The pressure setting is adjusted
with the pressure control valve (5).
