a. Disconnect the diode 1 from the wire har-
ness.
b. Connect the pocket tester (Ω × 1) to the diode
1 terminals as shown.
c. Check the diode 1 for continuity.
d. Check the diode 1 for no continuity.

CHECKING THE IGNITION SPARK GAP
1. Check:
• Ignition spark gap
Out of specification → Perform the ignition
system troubleshooting, starting with step 5.
Refer to “TROUBLESHOOTING” on page
8-4.
NOTE:
If the ignition spark gap is within specification,
the ignition system circuit is operating normally.
