ADJUSTING THE FRONT BRAKE LEVER
FREE PLAY
1. Check:
Front brake lever free play a
Out of specification Adjust.
2. Adjust:
Front brake lever free play
▼▼▼▼▼ ▼▼▼▼▼ ▼▼▼ ▼▼▼ ▼▼▼
a. Loosen the locknut 1.
b. Turn the adjusting screw 2 in direction a or
b until the specified brake lever free play is
obtained.
c. Tighten the locknut.
WARNING
EWA13050
A soft or spongy feeling in the brake lever
can indicate the presence of air in the brake
system. Before the vehicle is operated, the
air must be removed by bleeding the brake
system. Air in the brake system will consid-
erably reduce braking performance.
CAUTION:
ECA3D81018
After adjusting the brake lever free play,
make sure there is no brake drag.

ADJUSTING THE REAR DISC BRAKE
1. Check:
Brake pedal adjusting bolt position
Check that the end a of the brake pedal ad-
justing bolt is visible through the hole b.
Incorrect Adjust.
2. Adjust:
Brake pedal adjusting bolt position
▼▼▼▼▼ ▼▼▼ ▼▼▼ ▼▼▼ ▼▼▼ ▼▼▼
a. Loosen the locknut 1.
b. Adjust the brake pedal adjusting bolt 2 posi-
tion by turning the adjusting bolt in or out so
that its end is visible through the hole.
c. Tighten the locknut 1 to specification.
