8. Navigate in the hardware catalog to the directory ‘PROFINET IO
è Additional field devices è I/O è VIPA ...’ and connect the IO device, which cor-
responds to your CPU, to your PROFINET system.

In the slot overview of the PROFINET IO device ‘VIPA SLIO CPU’ the CPU is
already placed at slot 0. From slot 1 you can place your System SLIO modules.
1. Place for the Ethernet PG/OP channel at slot 4 the Siemens CP 343-1 (SIMATIC
300 \ CP 300 \ Industrial Ethernet \CP 343-1 \ 6GK7 343-1EX30 0XE0 V3.0).
2. Open the properties dialog by clicking on the CP 343-1EX30 and enter for the CP at
‘Properties’ the IP address data. You get valid IP address parameters from your
system administrator.
3. Assign the CP to a ‘Subnet’ . The IP address data are not accepted without assign-
ment!
For the System SLIO CPUs 014 ... 017, the RS485 interface is set to PtP communication
as standard. A hardware configuration to enable the PtP functionality is not necessary.
