Draining, wrist unit
The procedure below details how to drain oil from the gearboxes in the wrist unit.

DANGER
Turn off all:
• electric power supply
• hydraulic pressure supply
• air pressure supply
to the robot, before entering the robot working
area.

WARNING
Handling gearbox oil involves several safety
risks. Before proceeding, please read the safety
information in the section Safety risks during
work with gearbox lubricants (oil or grease) on
page 38.

The capacity of the vessel must be
sufficient to take the complete amount
of oil.

Position the robot as shown in the figure to the
right:
• upper arm: upwards for a standing robot
• axis 4: 180º, to a position where the oil
plug (A), faces downwards.
Note! The total amount of oil will not be drained.
There will remain approximately 50 ml in the
wrist unit.

the opposite!

Remove the both oil plugs.
Both oil plugs must be removed in order to drain
the wrist unit properly.

Refit the oil plug, vent hole.5
