Lesson 1 – Analog Modules

Source Unit (SRCA)
The source unit (software identifier: SRCA) in the multi-site
baseband analog source & measure provides AWG function and
PMU function.

Pogo Pins
Each unit (source unit or measure unit) in the MCA has four
signal pogo pins (X+, X-, XX+, XX-). X is A for unit 1, B for unit 2,
C for unit 3, ..., and H for unit 8. Thus, for unit 1, the pogo pins
are A+, A-, AA+, and AA-.
Units 1 through 4 are the source units, and X is A to D. For
details, see “Pogo Pin Assignments in MCA” on page 128.
Core Functions
The source unit has the four functions (called core functions):
Audio AWG, Video AWG, PMU (Parametric Measurement Unit), and
V Source (voltage source). The V Source core-function uses the
hardware of the PMU.
While all eight units in the module can be used simultaneously,
each core function in a unit can be used alternately. The core
function can be switched even in a testsuite. For some allowable
combinations of the core functions in a unit, see “Simultaneously
Available Core Functions in Source Unit” on page 117.
