1663 Barcode Scanner User Guide
After establishing a WPAN connection successfully…
1) Once a WPAN connect ion is established successfully, t he scanner will st ay active for a specified
period of tim e (2 m inutes by default ) for dat a transm ission. I ts CPU is running at full speed,
and the LED is flashing blue ( On/ Off ratio 0.02 s: 3 s) .
2) I f it is idle wit hin 2 m inutes, the scanner will become inact ive to save power for t he rem aining
period of tim e (t he specified value m inus 2 m inutes). I t s CPU is running at low speed, and t he
LED is flashing red ( On/ Off ratio 0.3 s: 2.5 s) .
Press t he [ Trigger] key to wake up the scanner when it becom es inact ive, and the scanner will
st ay active again.
3) I f it is idle and finally stays inactive unt il the specified tim e interval for Auto Power Off has
elapsed, the scanner will autom at ically turn off in order to conserve bat tery power. The three
short beeps will ring out , t one descending from high to low.
Hold down t he [ Power/ Delete] key for 2 seconds to t urn it on.
For Bluetoot h
®
HI D, the scanner will resum e connection with the host upon powering on
again, as long as the host applicat ion is running. The three short beeps will ring out, t one
ascending from low t o high. I f the scanner fails to resum e connection, it will try every 5
seconds to re- connect to t he host unless the “Reset Connect ion” barcode has been
scanned.
For Bluetooth
®
SPP Slave Mode, the scanner must wait for the host to re- connect.
For Bluet ooth
®
SPP Mast er Mode, t he scanner will resum e connection with the host upon
powering on again, as long as the host application is running. The three short beeps will
ring out , tone ascending from low t o high. I f the scanner fails to resum e connection, it will
try every 5 seconds to re- connect to t he host unless the “ Reset Connect ion” or “ Restore
System Defaults” barcode has been scanned.
With the use of 3610, the scanner will try re- connect ing to 3610 whilst the scanner is
active.
