spanning-tree hello-time
The spanning-tree hello-time Global Configuration mode command configures the spanning tree bridge hello
time, which is how often the device broadcasts hello messages to other devices.To return to the default configura-
tion, use the no form of this command.
Syntax
spanning-tree hello-time seconds
no spanning-tree hello-time
Parameters
•
seconds — Time in seconds. (Range: 1 - 10)
Default Configuration
The default hello time for IEEE Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) is 2 seconds.

When configuring the hello time, the following relationship should be kept:
Max-Age >= 2*(Hello-Time + 1)
Example
The following example configures spanning tree bridge hello time to 5 seconds.
