The description Interface Configuration (Ethernet, port-channel) mode command adds a description to an inter-
face. To remove the description, use the no form of this command.
Syntax
description string
no description
Parameters
•
string — Comment or a description of the port to enable the user to remember what is attached to the port.
(Range: 1-64 characters)
Default Configuration
The interface does not have a description.

The following example adds a description to Ethernet port 5.
