Auto-negotiation operates only on 10/100/1000Base-T interface. You cannot enable this
function on 1000Base-X or 10GbE optical interface.
5.10.3 Transmit Rate
To set the transmit rate of a 10G Ethernet port, use the following command.
speed {10 | 100 | 1000 | 10000}
Sets the transmit rate of a specified port to
10/1001000/10000 Mbps.
Deletes the configured port speed.
5.10.4 Duplex Mode
Ethernet operates in either half-duplex or full-duplex mode. In full-duplex mode, frames
travel in both directions simultaneously over two channels on the same connection for an
aggregate bandwidth of twice that of half-duplex mode. Full duplex networks are very effi-
cient since data can be sent and received simultaneously.
To set the duplex mode on an Ethernet port, use the following command.
Sets full-duplex or half-duplex mode.
5.10.5 Link Monitoring Timer
The link debounce time is the amount time that an interface waits to notify the link down
state of a physical Ethernet port. When link debounce timer is enabled, port’s link down
detection is delayed, resulting in a loss of traffic during the debounce period.
To enable/disable the debounce timer on an Ethernet port, use the following command.
link-debounce-time <10-5000>
Enables the debounce timer and specify the time for an
Ethernet interface.
10-5000: timer value (in milliseconds, default: 0)
Disables the debounce timer on the specified interface.
To display the debounce timer information, use the following command.
Enable
Global
Interface
[XE/GE]
Shows the configured link debounce time value.
