7.19 sFlow Monitoring
sFlow (sampled folw) is a real-time packet sampling method. sflow analyzes end-to-end
and network flow traffic characteristics in Ethernet network, as well as collects MIB infor-
mation to monitor the device.
In other words, in order to process the Flow by hardware, it operates only by sampling
method in consideration of a lot of data amount and processing overhead. This device
operates traffic monitoring via sflow without network degradation.
7.19.1 sFlow Setting
7.19.1.1 sFlow Function Setup
To enable or disable sflow function, use the following command.
sFlow is not enabled by default. Thus, only enabled sflow with service sflow command is
able to setup and operate sflow.
Within enabled status of sflow, to set or delete the selected port, use the following com-
mand.
Sets or deletes sflow function for selected port.
sFlow port setting must be set after sflow function is enabled.
Even though sflow service is enabled, detailed sFlow settings for that port are possible
only if the sflow port setting is enabled for each port.
7.19.1.2 sFlow Agent Setting
In this device, the agent analyzes incoming packet to the port for operation, and construct
sFlow packet and sends it to the Collector.
To set or delete sFlow agent, use the following command.
sflow agent-ip ip-address
Sets IP address of agent.
Deletes agent IP address and restores the default val-
ue. (default value: 127.0.0.1)
